The second step is to find a motivation.
Ask yourself, why do you want to do Amway?
Everyone who starts Amway, starts part-time.
We do this not because we can’t fill our bellies, and have to rely on the bonuses for survival.
We all have our own work, our own careers
our own lives, our own income.
We do Amway because it is our choice.
I don’t know if you agree with me or not?
No one is forcing you to do this,
no one can pressure any IBO into doing Amway.
Every one joins because they choose to.
And it is because of this that no one can make you do anything.
Whether you come to meetings,
whether you want to learn
whether you sell
whether you sponsor
No-one can force you.
Only you can require yourself to do this. Right?
In other words, we’re the boss.
Hey, you are a boss!
Who can say that you must come to meetings?
Your sponsor cannot, your Platinum cannot, your Diamond cannot either.
Amway’s employee, Amway’s manager, Amway’s CEO, no-one can make you do anything.
This is why it is difficult.
We all have jobs, everyday we work 8 hours, 10 hours.
By the time we get home we’re already so tired.
What’s motivating you? Why are you putting in effort?
But when you find the motivation its different right?
I hope everyone can find their motivation.
Of course everyone’s reason is different.
Some people do it because they like the business
Some people do it because they like Amway products
Some people do it because they want to make money.
I can tell you many people want to do Amway because they want to make money,
Especially young people.
I can see many young people, up there, down the back there, many are young people.
They join because Amway is your own business,
Many of us are very excited about being in business for ourselves.
Like me, I don’t really like working for others.
I don’t like my time being managed by other people.
Have to start at 9 and can’t go home until 5.
I prefer being in control myself.
I believe many people are like me, and have this wish.
Today I hope you can understand that this is your own business, your own choice
you set your goals, you manage your own work, you track your own progress.
Free to do what you like. Complete control of your 24 hours.
This is a great motivation don’t you think?
Of course not everyone wants to be their own boss.
Many have other reasons.
For example my upline Dr Jerry,
When he decided to do Amway, his did it for the passive income.
He had insecurity, because he was a working professional, a dentist.
He told me that IF one day he couldn’t see patients he would lose his ability to earn income.
His family, his wife, his children’s livelihood would be greatly affected by this.
So for his children, his parter and the security of his family he chose the Amway business.
So he found his motivation.
Otherwise people would think that it’s quite unusual,
based on his high social status, based on his income,
Why would he want to do Amway?
So fellow partners, new people and to all the prospective new people that you will sponsor
Help them find a motivation.
Believe me, when you find a clear purpose for building this business
You will work very hard, and you won’t wait for your upline to call you.
And all those that you sponsor,
you won’t have to call and ask them to come to meetings either,
you need to do this and do that.
I’ll tell you, all the new people,
when they find their motivation,
they will automatically come to meetings,
they will automatically sell and sponsor.
Like me.
Let it be known, my sponsor never called me.
It was I that took the initiative to call and ask
“Dear upline, are there any meetings I can go to learn?”
Where would you find such great downline!?

Why? Because I had a motivation, I had my reason
I wanted to learn, I wanted build the Amway business
I had goals, I had dreams.
So friends, new people.
Find your motivation,
When you have this you won’t need to rely on anyone to remind you to come
You will figure it out yourself.
My motivation was very simple,
when I started Amway I just wanted to make money.
Why? Because I didn’t have money.
And I really wanted to buy a car, you know, like most young people.
I saw my classmates, colleagues, they had cars, I really wanted to be like them.
I had a burning desire. I want to buy a car too!
But I had no money, what do I do?
Find a way to make money of course.
So when I came across the Amway business opportunity,
I saw that it could allow me to increase my income.
Very likely that I can realise this dream of buying a car.
I worked very hard.
And very quickly after 8 months I reached Platinum and I bought my first car.
I continued to work hard and after 27 months I reached Diamond and bought another car.
And proceeded to live a free and retired life.
Maybe many of you don’t know but I retired before I was 30 years old!
(applause and astonishment)
because at that time I was already a Diamond.
So of course when I found my motivation I took my own initiative to sell and sponsor
So the first stage my motivation was to make money and I worked very hard to do so
and retired before 30 because at that time my income was very good.
Imagine 30 years ago a single man,
less than 30 years of age,
with the income of a Diamond
living a life admired by many.
For example, every year, I had two company paid holidays,
and furthermore flying business class!
And my business was very stable, no need to worry,
you know my six legs, six platinums, have never have never dropped!
so my income was very consistent
I wouldn’t say wealthy but at least very comfortable.
Based on my income at that age, I thought that was enough!
and for at least half a year, I didn’t work,
I didn’t sponsor any new people,
I didn’t have any new customers.
I like that about Amway,
just because I didn’t sponsor or sell they didn’t require me to write reports explaining why
(audience laughs)
no they never bothered me.
But continued to pay me every month, my performance bonuses, sapphire bonuses,
and end of year emerald and diamond bonuses deposited into my account.
so why did I return?
This was my second stage. Motivation is very important.
You know for most of the people in the room, I still think you’re lacking the hunger, that enthusiasm,
your motivation isn’t strong enough.
For me after I reached Diamond, I was stimulated and so I returned to do Amway.
I remember one time going to the western pacific Diamond meeting
I shared that I was very happy to be a diamond and to be retired at such a young age.
After I spoke, another Diamond came up to share her dream of buying yachts etc.
After hearing her, I was stunned.
Why? because the one sharing her dream was a 72 year old new Diamond!
(audience laughs)
30 year old boasting about retirement, listening to a 72 year old talking about her dreams,
wouldn’t you find that provoking!? (audience continues laughing)
I thought to myself, maybe its a little early to retire.
So I decided that I will continue to work hard on my Amway business.
But when I started again the second time I found that it was more difficult to be as energetic.
This is because life was very comfortable,
every month I was paid quite handsomely,
I drove a nice car, and every year I had two free holidays.
I searched for motivation.
Listen, you have to find that motivation, I can’t find it for you.
Is it for your children? For your partner? For your future?
I don’t know, but in any case you must find your motivation.
Believe me, when you find your motivation you will feel the power and energy.
You won’t say, ahh I’m tired, its too hard etc. these problems.
Reflecting on that period, I came back to Amway to have an even better life.
Like many of you, life is not bad right now, but could it be better?
Of course it can! I kept telling myself
my car’s not bad, but would it be nice to drive a better one?
I have a nice house, but could I swap it for a better one right?
So I told myself, I must work harder. Why? because I can do better, live a better life.
Dr Jerry always came back and showed slideshows of his holidays flying first class.
Business class is good but can’t lie flat.
First class is different.
Honestly every time I hear him sharing, I got really excited and made a commitment.
So when I came back, at first I was a little lazy but when I found my motivation I started growing again.
My speed also increased, and quickly I reached Executive Diamond and Double Diamond.
And came to Taiwan to develop my second business.
My pace was really very fast, all the way to Crown Ambassador
Now I am Crown Ambassador in 3 countries ( at the time of this recording )

Some of you might ask:
You are already Crown Ambassador in 3 countries, Why do you still do Amway?
I feel like I’m just as excited as I ever have been
I’m just as hard working. Maybe even more hardworking!
Really. Amway is a never ending story.
Honestly I really don’t need to be so hardworking but I still want to do.
This is my third stage. I keep asking myself why do Amway?
I drive a nice car and live in a nice house,
and every year I have many overseas travel opportunities, all first class.
You know I have more that 10 fully paid holidays every year.
I can choose, Egypt? or Paris? or Switzerland? or Los Angeles? or New York?
Do I attend them all or just go on a few?
You know many people would love my lifestyle,
Complete freedom! A really uncommon freedom.
Over 20 years, I have no business card, and never need a mobile, can you imagine?

But I’ve come back to do Amway, because I found another motivation: an ideal, a mission.
Because through building this business I can help even more people achieve success.
I can achieve a wholistic, multidimensional success.
Just this point makes it worthwhile to build this business!

I always considered success not to be a destination but a process.
I really like the saying:
“Life is a continuous pursuit”
So everyone, please, find your reason and you will find motivation.
